If you would like
your company added to the Town of Oyster Bay vendor database, please email our
General Services Department, Purchasing Division, purchasing@oysterbay-ny.gov which
handles bids. Please include company name, contact, address, phone number, and

Appearance of the sign shall be as shown below, with coloring, spacing, underlining, size of type, and wording of language, as shown.

Main Street Revitalization Program

The Main Street Revitalization Program is designed to encourage economic vitality and growth of a business district. This program offers financial incentive awards for customers undertaking renovation or expansion projects to startup or grow their business.

Eligible projects may include:

  • Interior renovations
  • Façade improvements
  • Streetscape improvements
  • Other investments that would enhance the economic viability/vibrancy of the business district

Program Guidelines

The following guidelines will be used to administer and manage the program:

  • Applicant must be the business owner who will be the final electric account holder.
  • Building landlord and new development buildings do not qualify.
  • Business may only apply once per site.
  • Qualified work includes substantial construction projects. Cosmetic work is not eligible.
  • Detailed itemized cost breakdown must be included with application including all material and labor costs.
  • Applicants must provide documentation of all sources of project funding including personal/business account statements, loans documents and any other grants.
  • Applicants need to apply for program prior to or at start of construction.
  • PSEG Long Island will conduct pre-inspection and post-inspection of site associated with project, as well as request project status updates periodically.
  • Applicant must be located in a business district within PSEG Long Island service territory.
  • Applicant must be maintaining all existing electric accounts in good standing with no arrears.
  • Applicant must secure required building permits and complete the project in accordance with all applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, and standard construction practices. Contractors must be properly registered, licensed, and insured.
  • Applicant agrees to provide economic information to PSEG Long Island or its approved agent in order to verify the economic benefit of the award for a period of two (2) years after issuance of the final award payment.
  • Applicant agrees to participate in PSEG Long Island marketing and promotional activities related to any award provided for a period of up to two (2) years after issuance of final award payment.
  • PSEG Long Island to be included in ribbon-cutting/grand opening events and photos.
  • Business and/or affiliated local Chamber of Commerce to tag @PSEGLI and utilize #PSEGLI and #BusinessFirst in social media in reference to assistance provided.
This program may be suspended without notice at any time.
 
 

Business Attraction/Expansion Rate Discounts

For non-retail customers that significantly expand their Long Island operations or move their businesses to Long Island, and that meet or exceed increased electric load or job creation/retention guidelines.

Who is eligible?

  1. New, non-retail customers who achieve 145 KW. Discount applied to entire load.
  2. Existing, non-retail customers who increase their load by 100 KW or increase employment by 20% over minimum 50-employee base level. Discount is applied to incremental load.

Discount term of up to five (5) years on the energy-delivery portion of the bill for eligible load, with the greatest discount in the first year and then decreasing each year over a five year period down to standard rate.

Business Incubator Rate Discounts
For start-up business that graduated from a New York State-sponsored incubator program and are located outside the incubator facility. Business must have a 7 KW minimum load. The discount applied to entire load.
Discount on energy-delivery portion of the bill for eligible load Discount term of up to five (5) years on the energy-delivery portion of the bill for eligible load, with the greatest discount in the first year and then decreasing each year over a five year period down to standard rate.

Load-Shifting Option Discount
New program participants can permanently lower their electric rates by shifting their electric use away from our most critical load period—summer weekdays between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

New York State Excelsior Jobs Program
PSEG Long Island provides electric rate discounts to Excelsior-certified business customers, including firms in targeted industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceutical, high-tech, clean-technology, green technology, financial services, agriculture, and manufacturing.

Who is eligible?

  1. A new customer that moves into the PSEG Long Island service territory with electric load of 7 KW or higher and is certified by New York State (NYS) Empire State Development in the NYS Excelsior Jobs Program, or
  2. An existing customer that increases its electric load to at least 7 KW by adding 25% or 50 KW (whichever is less) and is certified by NYS Empire State Development in the NYS Excelsior Jobs Program. Discount applied to incremental load.

Discount on eligible load includes:

  • Zero demand charges
  • Flat energy delivery charge
  • Discount term is up to ten (10) years based on maintaining annual certification by Empire State Development.

A New York Power Authority program that provides lower-cost hydro power to qualified businesses that retain and create jobs.

Vacant Space Revival

Eligible businesses can receive incentives to occupy or renovate commercial spaces and breathe new life into struggling business districts.

Vacant Space Revival Program
The Vacant Space Revival Program is designed to encourage occupancy of commercial space in a business district or in an area of existing commercial businesses that has been vacant for a period of one year or more. Vacant business space detracts from the economic vitality of a business district and results in under-utilization of existing electric infrastructure.
Qualifications:

  • The Applicant may be the owner or prospective tenant of the eligible site.
  • Applicant must apply within six (6) months of Certificate of Occupancy or Electric Service Application
  • Incentives are applicable to the customer of record.
  • Landlords may apply for pre-qualification.
  • Applicant must also complete an Application for Service to begin receiving electric service at the building.
  • Applicant’s electric accounts must be in good standing.
