“A GLOBAL HAMLET FOR A GLOBAL ECONOMY”
The Chamber symbolizes the “Five Points” of Uniondale: the union of business, academia, non-profits, government, and community. With a present population of 24,759 and 5,986 households (U.S. Census 2010), Uniondale is considered one of the most diverse suburbs of New York State, representing virtually every demographic variation. However, with the impeding correction by the U.S. Census Bureau for August 2016, Uniondale’s borders will once again extend north to Old Country Rd. and almost double it’s population. Boasting over 2,000 registered businesses, including Roosevelt Field Mall, The Gallery, and the Source Mall it is yet another part of Uniondale’s unique composition that make it an extraordinary place to live, work, and be entertained on Long Island.
The Uniondale Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of advancing the economic, industrial, professional, educational, cultural, and civic welfare of Uniondale; furthermore, it exists to encourage the growth of greater Uniondale area industries and businesses, while giving all proper assistance to any new firms or individuals seeking to relocate to Uniondale. Additionally, the Chamber supports all activities believed to be beneficial to the community and the greater Uniondale area while opposing those that may be detrimental.
The Chamber champions and protects the principles of private and free enterprise before the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York State, and Federal government, regulatory agencies, courts, and the court of public opinion.
